Steve who is now Retired, is a Founding Partner of Primecorp. During his highly successful career, he was a leader in the field of commercial real estate. The Retail Leasing Team is now lead by his daughter Candice Lerner-Fry, whom he mentored for over eight years.
Steve was an integral part of the retail industry in Ottawa, representing both landlords and tenants, and has successfully worked with some of the largest chains in Canada including; Home Depot, Lowe’s, McDonald’s, BMO, and many more national retailers. In addition, Steve has land assembled and executed pre-leasing programs on behalf of many of the largest developers in the City, and as a result has assisted in creating and shaping the retail landscape throughout Ottawa. These contributions to the City have earned him a street named in his honour: Lerner Way, located in Eastern Ottawa.
Steve’s academic background is in engineering technology and medicine, specializing in high-risk obstetrics and neonatology. In March 1977 at the age of 32, he sold his company and entered the commercial real estate brokerage industry.
Over the years, Steve has been an avid supporter of many charities and community organizations, which have included the YMCA, the Ottawa Heart Institute, the Wakefield Palliative Care Centre, Maison Libère-Elles, Hope Academy Foundation, Ride for Dad, the NAC and the Ottawa School of Art.
We are proud to say that this humble humanitarian has been an important role model in the Primecorp culture.
